Kent fashion students to participate in Cleveland show
The Kreative Kulture fashion show, presented by the non-profit organization Finesse Brigade, takes place this weekend and will showcase some work of Kent State’s very own.
The show, taking place in Cleveland, will feature designs from senior fashion design student India Pineiro.
Pineiro said that for this show her collection was inspired by rap artist Cardi B and how her career saw almost overnight success. The collection is titled “Bloody Moves,” in reference to a line from the artist’s Grammy-nominated single “Bodak Yellow.”
“It’s kind of like ‘this is gonna be my Cardi B year,’” Pineiro said. “She came up, you know? So it’s just like, I kind of want to come up. 2018 is going to be a great year.”
Senior fashion merchandising student Kiera Lomax will also be in attendance, as the host.
“I just want everyone to enjoy the show, and see what talent the designers have to offer,” she said. “Also, possibly buy some designers work because there will be vendors.”
The fashion show will take place at Case Western Reserve University in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom at 7 p.m. Feb. 10. Tickets are $5 presale and $10 at the door.
