Arraignments set for three of four arrested during open-carry walk
A Ravenna man charged with fourth-degree felonious assault for allegedly striking an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper during Saturday’s open-carry march on Kent State’s campus was arraigned this morning in Portage County Municipal Court.
Marquis Patterson, 27, of Ravenna, struck Sgt. Carlo Cruze in the head above his left eyebrow with a wooden stake in front of Bowman Hall, according to court documents.
Renaldo Dixon, from West Virginia, Maxim Matthee-O’Brien, from New Jersey, and Jared Domenico, from Mentor-on-the-Lake, Ohio, were all charged with second-degree misdemeanors for obstructing.
The arraignments for Dixon, 36, and Matthee-O’Brien, 21, are scheduled for Tuesday around 8:15 a.m.
Domenico’s arraignment is still unscheduled.
