Tent City part 2- updated captions
Roger Shortridge, 27, poses for a portrait outside where he set up camp. He hung tarps under a loading dock in order to stay out of the elements. Shortridge was not on the initial list of people to be housed, so he planned to move back to the woods. As of Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, he told me he was no longer living in the woods, but rather in what he referred to as a “trap house,” where people gave him a room. He said he prefers that to living in a shelter, recounting sexual harassment he faced at Haven of Rest Ministries. “I reacted and punched the guy, which got me a ban,” he said. “That was three or four years ago.”
