Reed Memorial Library offers ‘Food Fridays’ to the community
Local food trucks gather for weekly Food Fridays at the Reed Memorial Library in Ravenna.
Food Fridays happen each Friday until the end of August from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event has different local food trucks parked outside of the library each week. Reed Memorial Library has expanded Food Fridays this year to include other local businesses near the library that are running specials at their own locations.
Interim Director Angela Young explained that the main reason for Food Fridays was to bring more people downtown Ravenna.
“Our main reason for starting this was to give the community a place to gather and a reason to get out and about to learn more about what new things are going on downtown,” Young said.
The food trucks serve different types of meals from hotdogs and hamburgers to southern specials and vegan options.
This is the library’s fourth year of bringing in different food options for the community. Reed Memorial Library also provides breakfasts and lunches for children on weekdays during the summer, which are donated by the Community Action Council.
Community members can enjoy their outdoor story walk and public library services all year long.
