Kent State alumnus Jason Zygadlo was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. Since then, he has turned his fight into a mission to help others overcome the disease, just as he did. With this goal in mind, he created Ziggy Strong, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families battling cancer.
Every year in Brunswick, Ohio, Zygadlo’s supporters gather for a walk celebrating his remission day and raising funds for cancer awareness. In Kent, the Kent Student Ambassadors hosted their own version of the walk, in honor of the alumnus and his mission, on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Participants gathered in front of the MAC Center before walking 2.24 miles across campus, symbolic of Zygadlo’s remission day, which was Feb. 24.
