AKRON, Ohio — For many pet owners, keeping up with routine care can get expensive. But One of a Kind Pets is helping make it more affordable, one clinic at a time.
Every month, the Akron-based rescue and spay/neuter center hosts a low-cost vaccine clinic at its West Exchange Street location. Prices typically range between $20 and $40 for vaccinations, tests and other essential services like microchipping and nail trims.
The goal, volunteers say, is to make sure every pet in the community has access to basic veterinary care, regardless of their owner’s financial situation or transportation challenges.
One of a Kind Pets has been serving the Akron area for nearly two decades. In addition to the vaccine clinics, the organization operates a no-kill shelter and adoption center dedicated to its mission: save, heal and adopt.
The next low-cost vaccine clinic will be held the third Saturday of November. Appointments aren’t required, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early due to high turnout.
