Despite the fact that the Toledo Rockets missed the presence of star senior running back Chip Trayanum, the Kent State football team was unable to win its second conference game this year, falling 45-10.
With the loss, the Flashes drop to 2-5 (1-2) on the season, losing the final road contest of October. The Rockets rebounded after a devastating loss to Bowling Green, improving to a record of 4-3 (2-2), just two wins away from bowl eligibility.
The Flashes opened the game with a great start, scoring on the first play of the game on a 75-yard pass to redshirt freshman wide receiver Cade Wolford for his fifth receiving touchdown of 2025. KSU forced a three-and-out on Toledo’s first drive of the game, and senior kicker Will Hryszko tacked on a 38-yard field goal to give the Flashes a 10-0 lead in the first quarter.
However, the Rockets then went on to score 45 unanswered points.
Senior quarterback Tucker Gleason was absolutely electric for the Rockets, completing 21 of 28 passes for 294 yards and four touchdown passes. Along with Gleason, senior wide receiver Trayvon Rudolph got the best of KSU, catching five passes for 119 yards and one touchdown.
For the final game in the month of October for KSU, the Flashes will return to Dix Stadium for a game against the 3-4 (1-2) Bowling Green Falcons. On Saturday, the Falcons were blown out at home by the Central Michigan Chippewas by a final score of 27-6.
