KSU ranks top 5 for diversity
Kent State University ranks No. 4 on America’s Best Employers for Diversity by Forbes.
Kent is the only college or university to place within the top five and the only university in Ohio to make the list.
University President Beverly Warren announced the ranking at Kent’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Jan. 23.
“We are a community of diverse beliefs and the power and diversity that we share,” Warren said. “I think in doing so, we know that we will indeed build a better tomorrow.”
Forbes partnered with Statista, a market research company, to create its second annual ranking for best employers for diversity.
The ranking anonymously surveyed 50,000 employees and asked them to rate their organization on diversity, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age and disability.
Ball, a container and packaging company, ranked No. 1 followed by Neilson and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennesse.
The University of California Irvine ranked No. 7 and is the only other university in the top 10.
