The menu of the soon-to-be-opened Golden Habanero was revealed Monday, Oct 13.
Golden Habanero is a food station expected to open soon in the Kent State Student Center cafeteria.
It will be serving an array of Latin-inspired cuisine, allowing for more diverse food options in the Student Center.
Students can choose and create an entrée of either a burrito or bowl, street tacos, quesadilla or empanadas. After they choose their entrée, they then choose the protein: pork carnitas, Chipotle chicken, beef barbacoa or seasoned tofu.
A wide variety of toppings are offered, including cilantro lime brown rice, seasoned pinto beans, pico de gallo and more. A variety of sauces is also available, including guacamole, salsa verde and jalapeño queso, just to name a few.
Each entree meal can be served with blue corn chips and the option of either fire-roasted salsa, queso or guacamole. Other side dishes include pinto beans and rice.
Along with the entrees are dessert and beverage options. A churro served with Bavarian cream and chocolate sauce is available, and horchata, lime mint aqua fresca and Jarritos soda are the drink options.
At the moment, it is unknown as to how students can pay for these Latin cuisines with meal exchange or dining dollars. There is no set opening date for the Golden Habanero, but it is expected to open soon.
