One new Ohio driving law was put into effect Sept. 30 and makes driver’s education training mandatory for all new drivers under the age of 21.
Previously, only those under 18 were required to attend a driver’s school.
Ohio is the first state to extend this requirement up to the age of 20.
The Ohio Traffic Safety Office has resources for young drivers to have better access to training.
“There is data that shows that when a young driver completes driver education, their crash risk drops significantly,” Public Information Officer Judy Converse said.
