Senate Bill 1, also known as the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act, is now in effect and bringing changes to campuses across Ohio.
At Kent State, the Undergraduate Student Government responded with a statement, and students are speaking out about what the bill could mean for academics and campus life.
USG President Ivory Kendrick told KSTV that leaders are working on ways to keep student life stable, including possible funding increases for campus organizations that serve minority groups.
Students say the bill leaves them uncertain about the future of their education and their sense of belonging at Kent State.
