Kent State students gathered outside the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center to honor Turning Point founder and political activist Charlie Kirk after his assassination at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025.
Kent State University’s Turning Point USA chapter organized the vigil, just days after Kirk was shot and killed while speaking on tour at the university.
The vigil drew a large turnout, with prayers, scripture readings and candlelight reflection.
Many attendees said the night was less about politics and more about faith, admiring Kirk for how openly he shared his beliefs.
