Rescuers recovered the body of the pilot in a helicopter crash Friday morning at Mogadore Reservoir.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the pilot as Anthony Jones, a 52-year-old from North Royalton, Ohio. Jones flew out of Medina that morning.

“We did pull the pilot of the helicopter out,” said Suffield Fire Chief Bob Rasnick during a press conference.

The Portage County Water Rescue Team went into recovery mode shortly after arriving at the crash site. Because of crash location, first responders could not run a shore-based operation.

Divers located the helicopter at 9:29 a.m.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
