A new transportation program in collaboration with the Portage County Sheriff’s Office allows newly released inmates to receive a free ride to a hub located at University Hospital in Ravenna, OH.
With the Portage County Jail being located on Infirmary Road, it was more than a two mile walk for released inmates to travel amongst. As the inmates are being picked up at the jail, the PCSO plans for the future to build a bus stop right outside their office for inmates to wait in.
