There were plenty of kisses to go around at Wednesday’s Puppy Kissing Booth.
Service dogs in training from Paws for a Cause kicked off early Valentine’s Day celebrations at the Student’s Center, offering puppy kisses for a dollar.
Their fundraising efforts enriched the experience of their dogs, and offered socialization events to their 80-person on-campus club.
Student members of Paws for a Cause support 4 Paws for Ability, a nonprofit organization that provides service dogs to children and veterans with disabilities. At Kent State, dogs are placed with a primary handler for roughly a year to a year and a half before they take a test determining their status as a service dog.
Emma Beseda is an active Paws for a Cause member who will be graduating this spring.
“Being able to have a dog on campus and be a part of your ‘college family’ is amazing,” said Beseda. “I’m so happy I’m part of this program.”
