The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Kent ahead of snowfall and mixed precipitation resulting in sleet and ice.
Until 7 p.m., Kent and other portions of North-central and Northeast Ohio will experience up to an inch of snow and sleet as well as one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulation.
From the early afternoon into the evening, there will be a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.
This weather can create slippery driving conditions and poor visibility, so the National Weather Service recommends drivers drive slowly and use caution during their evening commutes.
With the advisory, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission encouraged people to follow travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel.
