Kent State sent out an email Monday morning notifying students that the interactive campus map was updated to make navigating and identifying single-occupancy universal restrooms easier.
SB 104 goes into effect on Feb. 25, which prevents the university from maintaining and creating multi-stall universal restrooms, shower rooms and changing rooms.
The email stated improvements to restroom signage are being made with a goal to “prioritize the safety and dignity of all students, staff, faculty and visitors.”
Eboni Pringle, senior vice president for student life, stated in the email, “Kent State remains dedicated to maintaining an environment of respect, understanding and support for every member of our university community. We are approaching all facility updates with empathy, care and a commitment to preserving the well-being of all individuals on our campuses.”
Kent State directed students to their FAQ website for additional information or questions.
