“Don’t click on any links!” You’ve probably heard this a time or two about email security.
However, local experts are sharing tips on how phishing activity is not fading but is showing up in new ways beyond a suspicious link.
For college students, this means being more aware of all the communication they receive in the digital world: online, in their inbox, on social media, and through text messages.
Alex Hamerstone, the Advisory Solutions Director at TrustedSec, emphasized how phishing scams can happen to anyone.
“I just want to acknowledge that we don’t blame victims,” Hamerstone said. “People fall for this all the time.”
