With flu season officially underway, the DeWeese Health Center wants to help Kent State employees with immunization efforts through a pop-up flu clinic and wellness fair. Health Promotion and Assessment Specialist Amanda Bretzin brought up how the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends getting flu vaccinations before the end of October. According to last year’s statistics from the CDC, only 48% of American adults 18 years and older received a flu vaccine.
Our reporter Nikki Gasiewski attended the open clinic and fair and got to hear the Kent community lived by the motto, “Flashes taking care of Flashes.”
