Kent State trustees to meet Monday; expected to take action on presidential search

President Beverly Warren addresses the Board of Trustees on Wednesday.

Kent State’s Board of Trustees announced it will meet Monday to take action related to the presidential search.

The meeting will be held in the lecture hall at the John Elliot Center for Architecture and Environmental Design at 9 a.m.

The Board met two weeks ago in executive session to likely discuss the hiring of the next president and determine salary.

Executive sessions are not open to the public under Ohio law.

President Beverly Warren will retire on June 30. After her retirement announcement, media groups, journalism faculty and Kent State’s faculty union called for an open search, where finalists would be brought to campus publicly. If the board votes on Kent State’s 13th president Monday, there will be no other finalists.

The next board meeting will be May 9.
