Ice Skating Rink Coming to Downtown Kent for the Holiday Season
Kent State University and the city of Kent have partnered up to bring a holiday ice skating rink into downtown.
The rink will be located on East Erie Street and will be open to the public beginning on November 20 and remain open through February of 2022.
University architect Joseph Graham said that they began with the idea of the rink being on campus, but later decided that having the rink in downtown Kent would benefit the community more.
“They might be able to have dinner, or do some shopping down there,” said Graham. “It would just enhance the experience overall for everyone attending.”
Erie St. will close to traffic in mid-October for rink setup.
