Best Drunk Food
Best of Kent 2019
Winner: EuroGyro
Open until nearly 4 a.m., EuroGyro is a staple of the Kent community. The late-night bar and pizza shop has an array of items that keep people returning time after time. The menu features pizzas, gyros, pasta dishes, the classic chicken tenders and jojos and more.
With occasional live entertainment, deep-fried appetizers and a full bar, EuroGyro is able to keep the party going while you enjoy a meal.
“We have different specials for each day,” said Stephen Plotts, a delivery driver and event manager.
Specials such as Two for Tuesday, which includes two gyros for $6.99, and Wacky Wednesdays, a large, one-topping pizza for $5.99, give the community a chance to try fan favorites throughout the week for discounted prices.
Part of what makes EuroGyro appealing is the diversity in people that gravitate toward the eatery.
“You meet so many people, from so many walks of life, from so many places,” Plotts said. “You can come here Friday 8 (a.m.) to 9 (p.m.) and see how packed it is. It just depends on what’s going on that night.”
Second: Guys Pizza Co.
Guys Pizza shop has been a go-to in the city of Kent for more than 15 years. Nestled between two other businesses and in the hub of the bar scene, one could almost miss it. That is – if it weren’t for the wait outside.
The pizza shop features classics and fan favorites like cheese pizza and pepperoni rolls. But what makes Guys such a popular spot is the convenience and the the price.
The establishment sells generously portioned single slices of pizza for $1, making it affordable after a long night of drinking.
One voter said Guys Pizza has “the best deals and best customer service!” Year after year, people flock to this pizza place after a long night out.
Third: Taco Bell
Ah Taco Bell, home of the Quesorito, Doritos Locos Taco and cold Baja Blasts. An affordable option for almost everyone, Taco Bell’s Kent location always has a line in the drive-thru.
The popular fast food joint has been a staple in the lives of youth for quite some time and has expanded its market over the years. Now including more options for vegetarians and vegans, Taco Bell makes dining affordable.
As one voter wrote, Taco Bell “always has been and always will be.”
