Kent State football player awarded Steve Harvey Scholarship

Incoming freshman linebacker Anthony Morris Jr. is one of eight Kent State incoming freshman who have been awarded scholarships by the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation.

Morris graduated from Ginn Academy High School in Cleveland as the 2019 valedictorian. Morris and the seven other award winners were guests on Steve Harvey’s talk show, ‘Steve’, on June 26.

The scholarships will cover the total cost of attendance as long as the students maintain a 2.5 grade point average each semester.

Harvey is a nationally known entertainer, but he is also a former Kent State University student. Harvey was a former member of the Psi Gamma Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

The scholarships are dedicated in memory of former Kent State Psi Gamma Chapter pledge Devin Moore who died unexpectedly in 2017.
