Kent State has no need for transitional housing this semester

Move-in at Kent State looked a bit different this year because of the lack of transitional housing for on-campus residents.

The last few years have seen the university’s residence halls opening at more than 100 percent occupancy, said Daniel Shonk, associate director of assignments. However, this fall semester, there has been no need to assign students to these transitional spaces. Due to this, the university is still accepting housing applications for students who may still be seeking on-campus living arrangements.

“We’re really excited for the students that are living here, just looking forward to this upcoming year,” Shonk said.
