Kent State lost the first home in-conference matchup of the season, losing to Miami University (OH) 23-3.
KSU fell to 1-4 on the season, and Miami is 4-1.
Redshirt junior quarterback Mike Alaimo completed 18 of his 29 passes for 170 yards, and redshirt freshman Chrishon McCray caught a career-high 105 yards on 10 catches.
The Flashes averaged just over one yard per carry, rushing for 36 yards on 35 attempts.
Alaimo was sacked seven times in the game.
Redshirt junior quarterback Brett Gabbert threw for one touchdown and 216 yards on 11 completions.
Miami had 293 total yards for the game, and Kent State totaled 206.
KSU’s next game will be at Ohio University on Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
