Kent State (0-2) was defeated by Arkansas (2-0) 28-6 Saturday.
KSU totaled 26 yards rushing for the game and had negative 30 yards in the second half. Arkansas had 172 yards rushing. UA quarterback KJ Jefferson threw for two touchdowns and 136 yards on 13-19 throwing. Wide receiver Aaron Armstrong caught both touchdowns.
Michael Alaimo completed 11 of his 17 pass attempts on the day, converting for 174 yards. Alaimo threw an interception, which Arkansas defensive linebacker Antonio Grier returned for a touchdown.
Arkansas ran 11 more plays than the Flashes, averaging an extra yard per play.
The Arkansas defense accounted for seven sacks on the day and stopped the Flashes from scoring on the one-yard line. Kent State has yet to score a touchdown this season.
KSU’s next game will be at home against Central Connecticut State University Sept. 16 at noon.
